How I Nailed UGC Campaign

Feb 14, 2024

Introduction

I had the pleasure of working at 10x Academy, one of the top 10 coding bootcamps in India, as a social media manager for about a year. It was an amazing experience!

Challenge

One day, my manager, Nitish Jha, tasked me with preparing a user-generated content (UGC) campaign in just a week. At that time, I didn't even know what UGC meant, but I was determined to nail it.

Solution

Since 10x Academy is a coding bootcamp with around 1,000 students, I decided to create a session called the "LinkedIn Optimization Session."

I conducted this session once a week for all the students who were preparing for placements. In this session, I taught them how to optimize their LinkedIn profiles to catch the attention of potential recruiters.

These students were in the last month of the bootcamp and eager for high-paying jobs, so the session got a lot of traction.

After explaining all the optimization steps and tips, I asked the students to create one or two posts about the projects they were working on and tag 10x Academy in the end.

Results

The campaign got a lot of traction with hundreds of likes and shares because it was authentic, the audience was perfect, and the content was relevant.

  • We gained 3,100 relevant followers on our LinkedIn page in the first month.

  • Website traffic increased by 23%.

  • We got 60+ leads through LinkedIn in just 5 weeks.

Conclusion

After this success, I organized and managed multiple UGC contests for students and gained significant traction on the 10x Instagram page. This experience taught me the power of authentic content and the importance of engaging with the right audience.
